We are at that time of the year when we are excited that the year is drawing to a close and it's finally time for a well deserved break but before that we are faced with an obstacle...exams. It doesn't have to as scary if you plan adequately and prepare yourself.
Find a study area
Where you study plays an integral part on the outcome of your study session. I cannot study in a classroom or library but maybe it works for you. We are all different and have different preferences. Find what works and stick to it.
I do not always make notes but I find that when I do make notes my results do look a bit better. Making mindmaps and summaries helps you understand and remember the work rather than just coping as it is. My cherry on top is lots of colour, I guess it just helps me stay motivated.
Ensure you have everything you need
Check if you have all your stationery and whatever else you may need for your exam. By doing this you eliminate the possibility of stressing about other irrelevant matters during your exam.
Your life doesn't have to stop due to exams. You can continue doing what you always do, except procrastinating of course. You just need to make a schedule, I know it may be boring but it's just for three weeks. Set time aside to study as well as some time for yourself. Excersise, blog, take pictures, watch a movie, whatever it may be just take a break.
Wow, Tshegofatso! You should write a book. This seems like an obvious one but it's easy to find yourself stressing when faced with exams one needs to be reminded to take a deep breath and relax. You've got this!
And as I always say, your mental health is way more important than grades. We recently had a motivational speaker at school who failed matric 3 times but he is now doing his masters. Exams don't determine your future and second chances do exist as well as even third chances. Just give it your best.
